Golden Orb-Weaver Spider

Nephila Nephilidae

Golden Orbs like warm, moist areas in gardens and can most often be seen in summer.

Golden Orb-Weavers can be as large as a human adult hand and possess a grey body with yellow and black legs.

These spiders catch a number of prey in their webs including insects and even small birds.

Golden Orb Weavers produce beautiful golden threads forming complex webs. This species can often be seen in clusters taking over whole sections of backyard gardens.
