Flame Tree
Brachychiton acerifolius
Flame Trees are found in sub-tropical rainforests as well as suburban and city areas.
This flowering tree produces a dark-brown seed pod containing rows of corn-like seeds which are surrounded by hairs. Be careful though – these hairs are irritating to your eyes and skin.
The flame tree is deciduous. After dropping its leaves, the tree transforms into what it is best known for – its red colour by producing a bright red bell shaped flower.
