Blue Quandong

Elaeocarpus grandis

This tree originates in rainforests, but has spread to some urban areas.

Blue Quandongs are described as ‘rainforest giants’ and can grow up to forty metres tall, rising above the rainforest canopy.

The tree possess distinctive buttress roots and a unique edible blue fruit. Inside the blue fruit is a stone containing seeds.
