Blackbutt
Eucalyptus pilularis
Blackbutts like wet sclerophyll forests.
Distinctive to Eucalyptus, and a strong symbol of Australia, are the leaves and gum nuts which propagate the species.
A tall forest tree, Blackbutt can grow up to 40metres tall. The tree has black bark on the lower half of the trunk, migrating to a smooth cream finish. The shedding bark leaves scribbles on the trunk.
